How to Use Drexel's Altmetric Explorer

Altmetric badges display next to all publications in Drexel Research Discovery database which have standard identifiers (such as, DOI, PMID, etc).  View examples.

Answer

If you have not logged into Altmetric, you may only see the first few results on each tab.  At the bottom of a page with more results, this message may appear:

This page shows the most recent xxxx that mention this research output.

Click here to find out how to access more activity, including N additional xxxxx.

How to Log In via Drexel

  1. Go to https://www.altmetric.com/explorer/login
  2. Enter your DREXEL email address and click NEXT
  3. You will be redirected to Drexel Connect -- just login like normal

Why Use Altmetric Explorer?

The Drexel University Library updates Altmetric with Drexel publications and organizational structure every Monday.

Log in to the Explorer to browse mentions of your publications or view by department or much more.

OR, if you see an Altmetric logo on any page, you can click on it, and log into your account, giving you full access to Altmetric resources, whether it's a Drexel publication or someone else's.

Contact the Library IT (libsystems@drexel.edu) if you need more information or would like to schedule a training.
