Publishing Open Access under the Elsevier Agreement

Overview

Elsevier and Drexel University Libraries have established an agreement to support authors who wish to publish open access. When publishing open access in hybrid journals, you will not have to pay an article publishing charge (APC). Your research can be included in this agreement if:

  • It has an original acceptance date between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2028.
  • The Drexel-affiliated author is the corresponding author.

Answer

Process

  • Submit your article for publication to one of Elsevier's covered hybrid journals
  • Once the journal accepts your article, you receive an email containing a link to the “post acceptance author journey”.
  • You are asked to review your affiliation and funder details. Based on this information, you see personalized publishing options including the option to publish under the agreement.
  • You confirm your publishing choices and complete the post acceptance journey.
  • Drexel Libraries accept your journal article as participating under the terms if the agreement.
  • You and your co-authors receive an email to confirm that the APC will be covered by the agreement. Please note that the number of APCs included under the agreement is fixed and will be allocated based on date of acceptance.
